The Cabochon Hotel and Residence: "My best hotel – nice to come back"
This was my second stay. The staff remembered me and welcomed me again. I felt like I come back to my home. Sophisticated interior, food, flowers, aroma, and especially friendly staff. Everything I love with this hotel was still there. I travel a lot in the world and this is my best hotel.Misool Eco Resort: "Mind Blowing"
"This would have to be the best overall holiday experience of my life incredible diving and snorkelling a resort that doesn't just talk ECO but walks it in a big way lovely accommodation in a beautiful setting, you don't want to leave. Fabulous staff who really look after you ( get a massage) the food is excellent and they will do something special if you don't fancy anything on the menu. Room Tip: the rooms on the side of the island where the restaurant is save walking."Rachamankha: "Breathtaking Buildings and Grounds"
"The Rachamankha Hotel is the most beautifully designed hotel at which we have ever stayed - an architecture and design lover’s dream. People are literally taken aback when they drive through the gates and see the front entranceway with a huge fabric panel flapping in the wind. We stayed in a ground floor room with incredibly high ceilings, a huge bathroom, and big, stylish dark wooden furniture and doors. Rachamanhka has all your modern amenities but each detail is tied beautifully together by its historic Chinese and Thai aesthetic. In the courtyard just outside our room, the welcoming seating area as well as the plants, paths and pieces of art, worked together to make us feel calm and relaxed. This is the only time we’ve ever stayed in and ordered drinks just to hang out in a hotel’s courtyard! The pool was beautiful and perfect for cooling off after a long day in the sun. Or you can just lay in the poolside chairs and have a drink with a book in hand. It’s easy to walk to many things, or just grab a tuk-tuk for a quick ride. Highly recommend staying here if you want a relaxing, luxurious time in Chiang Mai. Stayed March 2017, traveled as a couple"Reverie Siam: "Gorgeous grounds"
Quite possibly the best hotel I have ever stayed in. Stunning grounds and bedrooms. The staff here are so friendly, particularly in the restaurant. The food was very tasty, in fact we had dinner here twice and lunch once, as well as breakfast every morning (try the avocado omelette and then a mojito later in the day!) it was the small touches in the hotel which we liked. For example the bean bag cushions on the decking overlooking the river, we spent an entire afternoon lazing on these watching the world go by. Yes the hotel is not in the centre of Pai, but then most hotels and guest houses in the area aren't. Reverie Siam is a little over 1km from the walking street, and the hotel provide a free shuttle service at any time upon request. They also gave me a mobile so that I could phone them when I wanted to be picked up. One minor irritation was the dim lighting in the room, but everything else was so lovely including the free standing bath tub that this didn't bother us. Definitely somewhere I would stay again.Rachamankha: "Peaceful and Serene haven in the old walled city"
As soon as you enter the hotel grounds you can see that this is a beautifully maintained hotel and it is like stepping into a different world from the hot and busy walled city. We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed the quiet peaceful child free atmosphere, the spacious pool (although unattended so you have to take your own water down from your room) which at times we had completely to ourselves. Breakfast was freshly prepared from the kitchen for any hot items with a small buffet of cereals, breads, fruit etc. in the air conditioned restaurant - excellent real leaf teas and fresh juices. As others have said the hotel is perfectly maintained with lovely antique furniture. For us the wifi worked well and apart from no conditioner amongst the Molton Brown toiletries it couldn't be faulted - would stay here again in an instant.Mrauk U Princess Resort: "A lush oasis in a dusty town"
"The Mrauk U Princess Resort is a lovely property and a wonderful place to retreat to after a long day of sightseeing and visiting the incredible and unspoiled historic temples in Mrauk U. Mrauk U itself is a dusty and bustling town and the temples are worth the long trip. The hotel arranged for a car to meet us at the Sittwe Airport for a three-hour drive and we availed ourselves of a peaceful ride back to Sittwe on one of the hotel's large motorboats. The five-hour journey included an excellent lunch and was an enjoyable way to see the riverfront views and a peaceful way to travel. The hotel is comprised of a number of authentic villas created completely by hand of carved teak in the local style. Furnished with local fabrics and decor, each is a mix of modern conveniences and Rakhine authenticity. There's also a unique swimming pool, set down in the middle of a pond. The dining facilities, bar and public accommodations are spacious and the very helpful and friendly staff anticipates your every need. The food is excellent and the spa offers a full range of massage and other services. The hotel arranged an excellent guide and tour of the historic temples by Tuk Tuk as well as home-made croissants and coffee at dawn on the top of a mountain to watch the sunrise over the mountains. Getting to Mrauk U takes some time, but it's definitely worth the trip. The Mrauk U Princess is a wonderful and welcoming retreat and is highly recommended."MesaStila: "Wonderful days"
Very relaxing place, with a nice volcanoes and hills view. You can enjoy the restaurant, the spa and the pool. The staff is very kind and can organize meny activities in the coffee plantation or outside. The Island Lodge: "Nice oasis to relax on the Mekong"
"Great choice for a quiet week-end in the Mekong delta, a mere 2-hour drive from HCMC. Transfer organised by hotel with excellent driver and comfortable car. Well-trained staff, good service and nice restaurant. Thank ctlinh"Hotel Tugu Malang: "Great historical place!"
"We had a pleasure to stay at Tugu. This hotel is like a museum -- antique collections from through out Java with some twist of local chinese immigrants house in a very nice Dutch colonial era building(s). Do not miss the complimentary afternoon teatime and snacks. You will also enjoy Melati restaurant located next to the swimming pool serving great traditional and western dishes. I recommend the ZAMRUD room (a step up) — larger than king size bed, huge handmade round bathtub and so on. We wish we had more time to explore the hotel. Perhaps next time."The Island Lodge: "Lovely Oasis on Two-Day Bike Tour"
We stayed at the property in later December 2016 on the night in the middle of a two-day bike trip. After a long morning and part of the afternoon on bikes we were very happy to arrive at this beautiful property. The owner and his staff are very welcoming and the rooms were spacious and very clean. The bathroom is well decorated with pretty rocks in one section of the shower and lovely ceramic mugs near the sink. We had booked ahead to ensure we could each have a massage that afternoon and the spa is small but pretty. There is a large pool and deck area along the river but it was cool enough that we were not interested in sitting out by the pool. We had a cocktail in the bar area which is open on all sides and has a fun decor that incorporates old world items. The restaurant was good but we were not clear at the time of booking that we would be on a set menu. I think we would have preferred to order a la carte. All in all a good stay and we would return if in the area.
