Tugu Bali: "Entrancing trip back in time seductive and excellent"
"A quick drive apres arriving at Denpasar we bear down on this enclave with its own laidback vibe. Its got all the blah-blah yoga resorty stuff that allow people to reconnect with parts of themselves they should keep private. Entry is via a huge open foyer, supported by towering teak beams, with history everywhere. Our room is unique furnished with ancient artworks and a giant four-poster even bigger than ours back home. Dowenstairs is a private pool. Everything reeks of history of art deco. Its an entrancing trip back in time allowing us no chance to resist the hotel's seductive charms."Satri House: "Perfect stylish getaway oasis"
"The whole setting of the hotel is very artsy, decorated beautifully with attention to detail and resembles the place it used to be perfectly. A quiet oasis in the middle of Luang Prabang with large, comfortable rooms, a nice pool, a very nice spa with knowledgeable staff, the whole staff team very attentive and lovely. It invites to meander around the premises, sit here and there, read, listen to the monks chanting in the nearby monastery sometimes, and just BE. Appreciated the NOT having a TV screen anywhere, no music, no noises at all, just nature. Breakfast was lovely and very good. One thing I would love to see improve - there is too much good coffee in Laos - but this was not incorporated in the menu - yet. Coffee was good but for coffee lovers could be improved."The Island Lodge: "Made From My Dreams"
Well what a place. My wife and I decided to try and walk from the barriers on the Island to the Island Lodge. We got over half way when one of the staff spotted us on their scooter and kindly told us to wait and sent the golf buggy to collect us. What a saviour she was. Upon reaching the reception we were greeted with a cool face towel which was such a lovely touch along with the most delicious of welcome drinks and a small welcome set of canapés. What a lovely extra. We were taken to our room and were absolutely made up with it. Everything we needed and things thought of with common sense. (...) All the food provided is well cooked and tastes great especially the Vietnamese cuisine. This means you do not need to go anywhere other than stay, relax and indulge. We hired bikes which was great and headed into My Tho. When my wife got a puncture the staff were so happy to help her get back to base and replace the bike. Michael and François are an insperation with what they have done and are doing, especially when you talk to them abou their past and how they came to set up this place of sheer luxury. They even surprised me with a glass of fizz and cake for my birthday whilst we were staying there yet another lovely touch. I cannot recommend this place highly enough I just wish there was 5 plus star to rate here. Thank you again to the team for such a wonderful stay.David’s Kitchen: "Amazing experience"
The food and the ambience were both excellent. We met the owner David who recommended a couple dishes for us to try. My husband had the duck, which he claims was the best he had ever had. I had the squid ink pasta, delicious! Overall experience was great! David made us feel right at home and was sweet enough to give us restaurant recommendations for the countries we are visiting after Thailand. Must try if you’re in Chiang Mai!Cuisine Wat Damnak: "Dining experience not to be missed"
"The setting, food and service were top notch. If you are someone that wants to enjoy a unique and delicious meal this must be on your list in Siem Reap. I saw on their website that reservations must be made weeks in advance. There were 4 in our party. There were two tasting menus to choose from and 2 of us had one menu, 2 the other. The chef and his staff take great care in presenting beautiful, unique and wonderful dishes. The price point is so reasonable that as U.S. Citizens we were blown away for what is brought to the table. The owner reached out to me once the reservation was confirmed to ask about any food allergies.I found that to be very considerate and a testament to wanting to be certain that the menu offered to customers is not compromised . The owner greeted us warmly after we arrived and the chef came out to speak to us as well as others having dinner. The ride from our hotel in a tuktuk was fun as well. As I said earlier, the setting is lovely. We all loved the entire experience at Cuisine Wat Damnak. We did sit inside by the way which was comfortable and a personal preference, rather than outside with fans. That may or not be an option depending on when you make your reservation. I would not bring children here."Tugu Malang: "Tolle Umgebung um Ruhe zu finden"
"My partner and I stayed at Tugu hotel in late September for a week and just could not speak highly enough of the place. It doesn't have the 'grand entrance' like other more commercial resorts do, but that really does work to Tugu's advantage, as it is like no other hotel you'll stay at. To make it easy for anyone deciding whether to stay here in the future, here is a list of pros and cons: Pros: - There is a lot of work gone into this hotel to make it very unique, for example; the owner/ designer has purchased many pieces of traditional antique statues from all over the show (large and small) that are randomly situated around the hotel grounds with stories all about them in regards to their history and culture. - There's a very authentic/ traditional vibe, which you cant help but feel immersed in and inspired by - The food is great. It's not a regular buffet breakfast, they make everything for you personally. P.S - The Jackfuit Curry is a must! P.P.S - I'm vegan and the staff more than catered to my needs by removing certain ingredients for me with no hassle. - Even though the place was fully booked, it never felt crowded, which made the whole stay more relaxing and enjoyable. You never had to fight for a sunbed or table etc. - The private beach is beautiful...those crystal azure blue waters that you see on postcards type of deal... (although not the best at low tide for swimming from the coral). - Lastly I would say, the staff are what made the stay just so memorable. They go out of their way to do anything to make you have a great time. At the end when we drove away, there were about 6 of them that waved us off! I almost felt emotional because they treated us like family (and I was so sad to leave)! Cons: - There's nothing really around in close vicinity to this resort (not really a con for us because the hotel is so amazing you don't really need to leave) but for the more adventurous/ partying types - this could be a negative maybe? In saying that, you can hire scooters and venture out. All in all I give Tugu the biggest thumbs up. My partner and I always talk about our stay there and how much we want to go back!"Sanak Retreat Bali: "perfect for relaxing"
This retreat was so dreamy. The room is stunning, with the option to open up the whole room with sliding glass doors. Food was very good. We did the trek to a waterfall with Gusti ( our guide). He was so lovely, very smiley and friendly. He explained the local work and introduced us to the local people. We were delighted to have such a great tour guide. We also did a spa treatment, I have to say it was the best massage in Bali. This Retreat is surrounded by nature. It is so charming, I would recommend for light sleepers to bring ear plugs. The sound of frogs, birds and the river was very peaceful.SANDAT GLAMPING TENTS: "Enchanting stay at Sandat Glamping Tents"
"We stayed only 1 night with friends in suite tents. The place is really what you can see on the website. Just fantastic, no insects, clean place, good food, nice deep private pool not too cold. Will come back when in Bali again "Locavore: "Amazing food perfect service"
As above amazing food & perfect service - perfectly matched flavours for every single dish! Obviously a lot of thought/research has gone into every dish
