Cabochon Hotel & Residence: "A brilliant stay at the Cabochon Hotel"

Review by: Sheena S | Source: tripadvisor.com
We have just returned from a 5 night stay at the Cabochon Hotel and already cannot wait to return. A 5-10 minute walk from Phrom Phong BTS station off Sukhumvit- the location was ideal. Close to public transport, restaurants and shopping. The hotel is incredibly beautiful and filled with antiques and interesting things to look at. It was wonderful to return to such a calm and quiet space after a busy day out in the city. We stayed in a studio room and found it to be perfectly adequate for our needs. The bed and linen was comfortable, the air conditioning great and the general design of the room and furniture extremely chic. Breakfast is served from 7:00am to 10:00pm and we loved the continental buffet as well as the a la carte choices which included both Asian and Western options. The staff are extremely friendly and couldn't help us enough. They answered all our questions and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and welcome. We will definitely stay at the Cabochon on our future visits to Bangkok and will be telling all our friends and family about it too!

Reverie Siam Pai: "Glad we stayed here!"

Review by: IrishLemon | Source: Trip Advisor
It was a great place to come back to from busy Pai. Just 5 mins from Main St by free shuttle service. Fabulous room with mountain views, private terrace. Loved the garden setting and pool areas. Excellent varied breakfast is made to order. We had pre-dinner drinks each evening but didn't have dinner there as it was Spanish-Italian food. Was hoping for upscale Thai. They also have a cute shop onsite but it was usually closed with no signage. Lovely staff. Wasn't crazy about a Pai but this hotel made our stay worthwhile.

Supanniga Eating Room: "Like it so much that we went again within 5 days!"

Review by: yoidan | Source: Trip Advisor
The night that we went for dinner, the restaurant was packed! Good thing we made reservation. We're ushered upstairs our table was a low table with 2 armchairs near to a window. Restaurant is small and it is a tight squeeze. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Food is yummy. We had the mixed appetizer, the Ma Hor is fantastic, spicy morsel of meat goes well with the tangy orange. We also ordered the crab fried with yellow peppers amongst others. It was this dish that made us go back! And we didn't regret it. For our 2nd dinner we had other dishes beside the crab. All turned out to be so good! Definitely a must try place. Oh yes, don't forget the drinks, the cocktails are very good too. We didn't have dessert there as we planned to walk down the street to Maevaree for their fantastic mango sticky rice.

Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris: "Bucket list experience – a must do."

Review by: Cath L | Source: Trip Advisor
"We recently spend 2 nights at Noel Rodrigo's Leopard Safari on the absolute edge of Yala. (The park is across the road) This experience was fantastic from start to finish in every way. Prior to arrival staff were in contact with our driver in Sri Lanka to ensure our meeting point and timing was coordinated with safari staff. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted and immediately given a guided tour of the camp. Lunch was served not long after our arrival and it heralded a standard that continued for the 2 days we were there. We had been to 4 different resorts/hotels prior to Leopard safaris and the food here was up there with the best. Fresh, locally produced, plentiful and absolutely delicious. The accommodation was amazing. Definitely glamping. Service was at all times en pointe. The safaris themselves were amazing. Having waited most of my life for an experience like this I was not disappointed. Our guides Sam and Praneeth were enthusiastic, passionate, experienced and very knowledgeable. We were able to see (with luck, patience and their guiding) leopards, sloth bears, incredible bird life, elephants, crocs, mongoose and much more. This was definitely a highlight of our three weeks in Sri Lanka. Many thanks to all staff who made this trip so memorable."

Mrauk U Princess Resort: "Rustic, Romantic, and Real"

Review by: raincitysunshine | Source: Trip Advisor
"Mrauk-U ended up being a highlight of our trip to Myanmar. Unapologetic for what it is, this is not a resort for the picky. It is rough around the edges, and it does seem priced beyond its means. And yet, in the end we were so happy we stayed here. If you are considering splurging on this little gem, then it helps to release any unrealistic expectations. The rooms are rustic, imperfect, sexy, and luxurious. Loved the spacious bathroom area with double vanity, separate tub and shower. Found the king bed to be super comfy and slept well. This is a great resort for couples. If you ask for a room with king bed, you will get flower petals strewn every evening. Being surrounded by lotus ponds in rustic charm make for a super romantic excursion. Feels like a retreat. No TVs on premises and poor WiFi. It helps to have a local SIM card for internet—indispensable for Google maps used for sightseeing. We rented the rickety hotel bicycles each day and loved it. Staff is fabulous, friendly, warm, and kind. The kitchen serves probably the best food you can eat in Mrauk U (other than in someone’s home). The prices are also surprisingly reasonable. Eat as much Rakhine food as you can while here and they can make you Rakhine noodle soup for breakfast if you order a day in advance. The setting is remarkable, away from the town and in its own village. It is great fun riding the resort’s rickety old bicycles through the village, into Mrauk U town, and around the ruins. We did this two days in a row and loved it. Recommend you start early as possible around dawn because it gets hot in the afternoon. Also recommend using GPS/Google Maps. You can make a large circuit of the ruins in one day but two is better. We stayed three nights and it was perfect. We did not do excursion to Chin villages. I have it on good word that the local owner of the resort gives back to the community, if that helps encourage you to stay. You can get here by car or boat from Sittwe. We picked this resort to avoid having to deal with the government boat schedule and having to spend the night in Sittwe. As of writing this, the resort does not list the prices for its airport transfer (boat from Sittwe) on their website. The price for two people is over $500 r/t. This was shocking to me at first because you can take local transport for a fraction of the cost ($40 per person-ish r/t on the govt boat). However, you would have to stay overnight in Sittwe and it would be a hassle. It seems silly saying this, but if you can afford to stay here at all, it is worth paying for their transfer service. The price stings a little but it is so worth it. The resort has its own boat jetty, and your transport to/from Sittwe is as easy as can be. It’s a really fab ride and infinitely more comfortable than any other way of getting here. They actually cook for you on board (great food). Plus you can arrange to come out here without having to overnight in Sittwe in either direction. That means liberating time to do other stuff in Myanmar and enjoying a silky smooth journey to remote Mrauk U. Overall I would not have wanted to stay anywhere else in town and strongly recommend staying here if you have an inner princess to please. When you come with an open mind and heart, your perspective can be transformed and you may come to enjoy it as much as we did."

Maison Polanka: "“Excellent – best service Experienced in SE Asia”"

Review by: admiral b | Source: Trip Advisor
We stayed three nights at maison polanka. We have lived 12 years in Thailand where the people are hospitable. However, the service we encountered at maidon polanka is unlike anything we have experienced. It feels like a home away from home. No detail is lacking and the fact that the hotel staff remember your name is notable. For those wishing a unique, Beautiful and u forgettable Experience to compliment your visit here, than maison polanka is a must!

Villa Song Saigon: "Great"

Review by: parkgra | Source: Trip Advisor
A very relaxing place with great gardens and pool. Excellent restaurant and choices of food. Room was very large and comfortable. Good bathroom. Out of town but still only 15 minutes away by speedboat or a bit longer by taxi.

Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "Very educational and interesting"

Review by: tackhoongcheong | Source: Trip Advisor
"Joined one of three conducted tours of the mansion available. The guide, Ben is simply the best I have ever come across. He speaks very well. Very informative and interesting background stories relating to the life of Cheong Fatt Tze and the life of others living in this mansion before it becomes what it is today. Worth every second of the two hours spent there. Could have been even better if more artifacts of the early days are on display. Stayed March 2017, traveled as a couple"

Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "Great location & beautiful property"

Review by: Benedict T | Source: Trip Advisor
Very friendly & helpful staff, including the manager. Decided to give this hotel a try based on some recommendations, and also due to the fact that i had a work appointment nearby. Great location & many interesting local attractions to visit nearby. Food at the Blue Mansion was brilliant.

Muang La Lodge: "Idyllic Setting"

Review by: PaCyclist | Source: Trip Advisor
"This property is magical. It is a small boutique property offering outstanding service. While the English of some of the staff is limited, Rafael or one of his assistants is always there to make sure you have what you need and to make sure you have an outstanding experience. The guide Rafael arranged for our trip to visit surrounding villages was the best of our Lao trip. The breakfast and dinner were both top notch. Innovative, high quality really good food. The hotel also offers a hot spring, spa and private island with swimming pool. Stayed January 2017, traveled as a couple"
