Satri House: "An amazing experience"

Review by: James L | Source: Trip Advisor
From the moment we arrived we were awe-struck by this beautiful property. Gianni and his team do a superb job looking after the guests' every need, from organising tours to arranging airport transportation. All of the staff are very friendly but our favourite was Peng at the pool bar. An absolute delight, he attended us thoughtfully and unobtrusively over our four days at Satri House. We were very sorry to leave. We would definitely stay there again!!

Satri House: "Wonderful stay in a beautiful oasis"

Review by: Expat-traveller41 | Source: Trip Advisor
"We loved our 3 night stay at Satri House. Hotel Manager Jacques and his staff were offering free drinks and canapés at the poolside bar on our first night at the hotel which made for a lovely first impression. We found the decor and service perfect throughout our stay. Sure, some staff didn't have perfect English but they made up for it with their friendliness and professionalism. All our requests were dealt with promptly and efficiently. If you're looking for ambience, comfort and tranquility, look no further. Stayed February 2017, traveled with family"

Les Maisons Wat Ko: "Distinguished by excellent staff; Best if you want quiet away from center"

Review by: Ashland_Local43 | Source: Trip Advisor
"This property is very lovely, with a beautiful, peaceful, jungle-like setting. If you want a quiet restful time away from the hustle of the town center, this is your place. Rooms are rustic, but comfortable and gorgeous in the traditional Cambodian style. The pool and grounds have a wonderful spa-like feel and are particularly sumptuous at night. But the physical appeal of this property is completely surpassed by the excellence of the staff. Every single staff member was cheerful, solicitous and kind, greeting us with a welcoming smile every time we returned from an outing. They excel even by Cambodian standards of hospitality, which are very high. The food, although beautifully presented, was not particularly distinguished and rather expensive for Cambodia. We've actually had very nice dinners in France for less. The prix fixe dinner is a good choice if you want to stay at the property and relax in the fabulous setting. But if you want to get around and explore, you can find better food in town for much less. For those who do want to spend a bit of time in town, this might not be the best choice. It is a very long walk (we only did it once and that was enough). The tuk tuk arrangement was also sub-optimal. You can't just walk out the door here and grab a tuk tuk -- there aren't any around. The hotel has to call one for you. We also had a little confusion over this arrangement: the hotel actually pays the driver (charging you a markup). So don't make the mistake of paying the driver again, as we did. And as far as we could tell, you pay for a round trip whether or not the driver returns you. So, on our first trip, the hotel billed us $7 for what was only a one way trip. We paid a different driver $2 to get back (note the unmarked-up price). None of this is a big deal or a serious criticism of the hotel. It's just a heads-up that you should clarify with the hotel exactly what you are paying for when you get a tuk-tuk, so there will be no surprises. Stayed March 2017, traveled with family"

Rachamankha: "Attentive service, beautiful scenery, great restaurant"

Review by: Adam S | Source: Trip Advisor
"We were thrilled with our stay at Rachamankha. My wife and I were here for our honeymoon, and it was a wonderful venue for such an occasion. Somewhat hard to find among the back roads inside the old town in Chiang Mai (the tuk tuk's will know where to go), it provides a great escape from the bustle of the town. The grounds are immaculately manicured. There is a great little seating area to lounge and relax. The pool is large and well maintained. Our room was very quiet, had a great large bed. The AC worked well enough in the room. The thing is don't miss the restaurant. We ate at several restaurants around town, but kept coming back to the hotel restaurant for the green curry, stir fried noodles, and several other dishes. Staying at the hotel, breakfast was fantastic every day. Our only issue was that the Internet connection was not super reliable."

Supanniga Eating Room: "Amazing food"

Review by: Sihamoni | Source: Trip Advisor
"The food was fantastic. My sister who's lived here for over 20 years couldn't agree more with the authenticity of the food and ingredients, some even pleasantly surprised us. The service is maybe a lack of English. But they are trying very hard. Much appreciated. I'd recommend The trio appetizers - Yum Mieng Yong, Ma hor, Khaotang Namprik Kakmoo, - Yum Crispy Leaf Fish, and Hor Mok Crab Meat. "

Supanniga Cruise: "Supanniga Evening Champagne Cruise"

Review by: Katri80 | Source: Trip Advisor
We had a chance to try out the new Supanniga sunset cruise with my sister and her fiancee who were visiting us. Compared to many of the other river cruises, the experience was much more intimate with a small boat that was not in the least crowded for the 1-hour sunset cruise on a Sunday. Very comfortable and nice scenery, and the glass of champagne offered was very good! The sunset cruise includes no food beyond a few nibbles (think peanuts and dried shrimp), but the service was great and the menu for the later dinner cruise looked very appetising as well. Recommended for a special event or a less touristy cruise option for visitors!

Supanniga Eating Room: "Nice desserts and ambience"

Nice and flavorful food. Service was good. Nice crowd. Not too rowdy. Ideal for family or dates. Pricing is considered higher when compared to Bangkok standard.

Discover Muang La | Visit Laos | Luxury & Boutique Hotel: "Beautiful, peaceful, luxurious, a class act"

Review by: Kotinka | Source: Trip Advisor
"The title sums up how we felt about this magical place. The location in Muang La is perfect - far from the disney-land tourist circuit of Luang Prabang (and a beautiful but bendy 5-6 hour drive from there as well!), it's remote but therefore also perfectly situated for exploring the nearby rugged countryside with organised private trecks through the hills, visits to the various ethnic groups and their time-locked villages, followed by a dip in their own natural hot spring and a delicious 5 course meal every evening overlooking the river. The managers Raphael (Swiss) and Job (Dutch), are at the top of their game and do a magnificent job of making you feel like royalty from the moment you arrive until the moment they wave you goodbye on your onward journey. I advise booking at least 4 nights, a package which includes free beer and wine at dinner as well as a free massage and gives enough time to really settle down and experience it all. If you visit Northern Laos and have the budget (not cheap but looking back it feels like truly great value), this place is a must."

Les Maisons Wat Kor: "Paradisiac"

Review by: Laurence F | Source: Trip Advisor
A warm and friendly hotel where you feel good, I occupied a room during a couple of days, the room was spacious and comfortable, the gardens were just amazing and the staff was smiling and thoughtful. I warmly recommend The Maisons Wat Kor

Rachamankha: "Beautiful, boutique hotel, don’t expect 5 bars, a gym & 3 restaurants"

Review by: Vietnamvera | Source: Trip Advisor
A gem of a hotel, hidden away down a side lane in the old city. No noise, 24hr security & an architectural wonder of Thai design. Rooms with covered walkways are all built round open courtyards with paths, palm & oleander trees & pots, joining them to different areas of the hotel. The pool area is beautifully maintained & the library has an old colonial feel with many interesting subjects to browse, particularly travel & architecture. Our room was quiet, spacious, spotlessly clean, with an excellent shower & lovely Moulton Brown toiletries. Breakfast was taken outside or in, waiter served with choices cooked to order. Very relaxing compared to the pandemonium of buffet breakfasts experienced elsewhere. Restaurant evening meals delicious & beautifully presented. Would definitely return & recommend.
