Sandat Glamping Tents: "Magic place"
Sandat is really our kind of experience, exclusive tents beautifully designed and decorated, off beat location, far from the crowd, very warm staff who played with our daughter, 2 and half years old who enjoyed so much, great breakfast, a Must in Ubud !Sandat Glamping Tents: "Perfect"
"We stayed for 3 nights during our honeymoon. The ‘tents’ are luxurious and the staff are amazing. Nothing is too much. They offer a free shuttle into Ubud which is very convenient. The shuttle to and from the airport is reasonably priced. I’d recommend for ease to use them as the vehicle is comfortable for the long drive. The declarations throughout the ‘resort’ are carefully thought and eclectic giving an almost grand feel. The food is lovely as are the drinks! For anyone coming to Ubud I’d recommend nowhere else."Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris: "One of our favourite experiences in Sri Lanka"
"We were in Sri Lanka for a month and our overnight safari camp with Leopard Safaris was a real highlight of the whole trip. The accommodation was real luxury camping (glamping) with electricity in the tents including a phone, fan, lighting and torches. The toilet and shower tents were clean, the toilet was a western style one and we had hot water for our evening shower. What a treat! The food was delicious – some of the best we ate in Sri Lanka. The staff were excellent and really looked after us. The whole layout of the camp was great with a nice lounge area with drinks and comfortable seating as well as dining area where you could chat to other guests and the staff. We really enjoyed chatting to Saj who was clearly passionate and deeply knowledgable about his work with animals. The safari itself was great fun. We had bad weather while there but still managed to see an array of wildlife including a leopard. We had two game drives during our stay with a ranger and a driver in the car to help us spot wildlife. Excellent experience all round. Thoroughly recommended. Stayed January 2017, traveled as a couple"4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Tranqulity and Amazing Staff"
We stayed at 4 Rivers earlier this week as part of our family trip through Cambodia. Although a long drive from Phnom Penh (5-6 hours given Phnom Penh traffic) the drive lets you experience beautiful scenery increasingly taking you into the rainforest areas before reaching the 4 Rivers reception and a short 20 mins boat ride to the Lodge. Once you arrive it is a beautiful setting with the tents floating on the river and the jungle all around. The tents are well equipped, spacious and private. The first night we were taken out on the river the see the fire flies and the second day we kayaked, swam in the river and took the side trip to the waterfalls which were fantastic. The staff at the resort were a mix of local villagers and the managers were from the Philippines. All of them were incredibly warm, genuine and helpful and simply wanted to ensure you were having a great time. You constantly are amazed and how wonderful the Cambodians are. The food was very good (taking into account you are in the middle of nowhere). I would encourage everyone to go and visit the lodge and the region as my greatest fear is that once relay discovered the area will fall victim to major development. For now it is a wonderful and magic place.Rice & Zen Boutique Resort: "Perfect Koh Samui Family Trip"
"Wonderful unpretentious small resort, nicely embedded in lots of plants and palm trees. You will be greeted with a very warm welcome and personalized service. They will do all their best to make your vacation special. Food menu is really huge for a small resort and small restaurant, but they surprised me with great quality fresh thai and european dishes. And we are certainly not the least picky regarding food quality. On the menu you will find great thai kitchen to lobster or wagyu burger. For our kids we made sometimes special requests which were all handled perfectly. Some vegetables/herbs etc are organically grown in their garden. Even if you don't stay in the resort, be sure to visit the restaurant. Cocktails are of great quality, lots of gins with fever tree tonic are available. We also did a cooking class with Toy, their chef, and were grateful for the time and effort she put into explaining all the details of thai cooking. The cooking took place outside with a view onto the pool and beach, which was a nice detail! Our two bedroom pool villa had all required amenities and was very clean and decorated with love. There is also a spa, but in the end we didn't have time to try it out. Airport transfers were organized by the resort and were perfectly on time with luggage service etc. If you don't need a huge and maybe crowded resort like the W, Four Season, but prefer a more authentic familiar service, this is the place to go. In the end I can only highly recommend the resort. We will certainly go back one day! Stayed April 2017, traveled with family"David’s Kitchen: "Best food and service!"
I would say this restaurant is the best restaurant that I ever had. I had a high expectation before I go because TripAdvisor award it as one of the best fine dining restaurant in the world. It ended up even exceed my expectation. I like every dishes that we ordered. All the waiters and waitress had very high standard of service. I will definitely come back again if I visit Chiang Mai again! And I would highly recommend my friends to go if they visit chiang Mai.leopard safaries: "Absolute respect for nature, top notch service, and food to die for"
"We cannot recommend Leopard Safaris highly enough. We stayed at a range of accommodations while in Sri Lanka--from luxury eco-resorts to Airbnb--and Noel runs the most professional operation of them all, and leaves the high-end luxury resorts (e.g. Jetwing) in his dust. It felt like nothing was an issue, effort or burden for Noel and his team. All of his team are fantastic, but we worked with Saj the most and can’t speak highly enough of his welcoming and friendly nature, sense of humor, great enthusiasm and passion for what he does (i.e. revel in nature and wildlife!), and utmost professionalism. Seriously, Saj - will you be our friend?! ;o) (...)The campsite (accommodations, dining, lounge etc.) strike a great “glamping” balance - modern luxuries (e.g. porcelain toilet), but not excessively developed, so there is comfort without feeling like the area has been flattened for tourists (in fact, Noel replanted/reforested a lot of the area, having been cleared previously by farmers) - The traditional Sri Lankan food was the best bar none - we ate only traditional Sri Lankan food for our 3-week trip, from roadside to home-cooked meals to luxury dining, and not only were the meals at Leopard Safaris the best versions of what we’d eaten elsewhere, there were also a host of other traditional dishes we’d never seen (I’m converted to wood apples!) Thank you Noel, Saj, and everyone at Leopard Safari’s for a lifetime of memories and an all-too-brief stay. Please do keep to your values and good work, and hopefully we can come back soon!"Cuisine Wat Damnak: "Must-visit restaurant in Siem Reap for affordable price"
First of all the location: this restaurant is in a dark and isolated village in Siem Reap, and it might be difficult even for taxis to reach it. Recommend keeping a map with you (or google maps) in order to find it more or less easily or help the taxi driver to do it. Went there right after Christmas and only had to wait a few minutes to get a seat (no booking, but it's better to have one). The restaurant has two floors, so you can dine downstairs indoor or at their al fresco terrace. They offer a tasting menu of 5 or 6 courses for 24 or 28 USD that changes every 10 days, the food is amazing! Their style is French-Cambodian, and the chef will come visit you at your table at the end of the meal to offer a plate of fresh fruit after the dessert. Must note that the restaurant is open only from Tuesday to Saturday, so it will be a pity to go there when it's closed (also because it's a reeeeeally dark street haha). Enjoy!Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "Feels like staying in a 19th century building"
The property still retains its original feel, as the owners have used professional building conservation methods to restore the building instead of totally revamping the interior in accordance to modern interior design concepts. Recommend to attend the daily guided tours to know more about the history of the building and its 1st owner, Cheong Fatt Sze.Mathis Retreat: "Stunning"
We only had two nights in Ubud at the end of our two week Bali holiday but I wish we had longer at Kenanga. What a beautiful peaceful hotel. Amazing rooms, helpful staff and such a nice private location. Would highly recommend and wouldn't hesitate to go back.
