The Apsara Rive Droite: "Tweede bezoek weer top"
"Waarom alle toeristen naarde buren gaan is ons een raadsel. Wij hebben onze vakantieregel gebroken (nooit 2x naar zelfde resto) met goede afloop. Weer heerlijk gegeten, lekkere amuse, gezellige bediening en top setting tafel aan de rivier. go !!!! Stayed February 2017, traveled as a couple"Mume: "Modern contemporary cuisine in Taipei"
Helmed by chefs whom trained at the world renowned Noma, comes a modern contemporary restaurant with Taiwanese elements. Ingredients are mostly locally sourced I believe. The sensibilities are quite close to the Nordic style of cuisine, which is subtle in flavour albeit quite well balanced.Glenburn Tea Estate: "Shangri-La in Darjeeling"
We spent four wonderful days in this Shangri-La situated in the Himalayan Mountains, surrounded by tea gardens, hikes through the tea gardens and tiny villages, scenery to paint, and of course wonderful tea picked at the estate. Each evening a delightful family meal, meeting fun and interesting people, and wonderful food from a different region each evening. A little off the beaten path, but worth the little extra effort to get to paradise.Tugu Malang: "Flawless and one of a kind."
"Tugu is absolutely soaked in colonial era charm. It comes through in the way they support you throughout the visit. It's in the architecture and extensive art collection. It's all through the menu in the restaurant. It's in the amazing choices of furniture and design. We were given the exact suite we asked for. The tub was beautiful and nicely proportioned. The linens are really comfortable, and high-slung bed is interesting. We spent a lot of time relaxing at the hotel, because it was just that nice. (...) By all means, stay at the Tugu and really explore the place. It's got all kinds of interesting nooks and crannies. Check out Mount Bromo too - and bring your warmest clothes... it's really chilly up there in the morning. Tugu has fast internet, which is good too! Of all the great things which could be said about the hotel -- it really is the wonderful people that make the place great. Friendly and genuine."Tugu Bali: "Simply perfect!"
"We stayed at Hotel Tugu for 5 nights in April in one of the Dedari Suites (with a private pool). The second you walk into the hotel you know that you are going to have an amazing time. It is stunning and has a lot of art and statues and is very tranquil. We were given a welcome drink and orientation to the hotel and then taken to our room. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. The rooms are enormous, have a 4 poster bed, gorgeous bathrooms with a sunken bath, shower and separate toilet. The garden area was equally stunning with a swing sofa and pool - not big enough to exercise in but bigger than a plunge pool I would say. One thing that for me really set this hotel apart was the fact that you can eat from the a la carte menu anywhere in the hotel or grounds that you choose. In addition, breakfast was included and you also order this from the a la carte menu any time of day from 7am. This was a massive bonus - too many times on holiday you force yourself out of bed to go to breakfast but we had it in our room every day and the choice available was excellent. Afternoon tea is served every day in the lobby every day. Also, if you get the chance we had one of their set meals one night and ate in the private dining room which is like a little museum full of curios and the food was incredible. The staff are incredibly friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They can't do enough for you and were always smiling and polite. The rooms were kept beautifully clean and the Balinese massage at the spa was so relaxing my husband almost fell asleep! The location is also great. Just note that although it is set by the beach (so you can hear the waves at night) that the actual hotel is not on the beachfront and there are no sun loungers available on the sand. This wasn't a problem for us but it may be for some people. I can't recommend this hotel highly enough. It was relaxing, beautiful and interesting - just what we needed for a few days of peace and tranquillity!"Misool Eco Resort: "Beyond beautiful"
"As a long time diver in the Caribbean and the Great Barrier Reef, I was amazed at the diversity and abundance of the: soft and hard corals, the fish, sharks, nudibranchs, clams, starfish, mantas etc at Misool. The colors are amazing. I had to remind myself that the reefs were real and not computer generated. Everywhere you looked there was a different coral and an unfamiliar fish/animal. We stayed in a Water Cottage built above the water on stilts. Each night we slept to the sound of water rippling against the pilings, in a very comfortable king size bed surrounded by a canopy of mosquito netting. There were few mosquitos near us though others reported some. Food is abundant, delicious, amazingly varied and served family style so you get to know everyone there. You walk along boardwalks surrounded by flowers to diving, presentations and the dining area. We felt pampered our entire time at Misool, by the diving staff, the kitchen and wait staff, house staff, the management and the astounding beauty of the place. Equally impressive is the work the owners of Misool do protecting the reefs, providing jobs / job training and education to the community. The beauty and health of the reefs at and around Misool is do in large part because of the work that Misool does in protecting the reef with it's ""no take"" zone, employing local men to patrol and monitor fishing, as well as the recycling programs that keep the waters clean and also teach the children about the value of their ocean. Misool is a very special place, most of the people who were diving with us were returning because they love it. We also hope to return."Inle Heritage Stilt Houses: "Unique Boutique Hotel with fabulous service"
"My sister and I spent 6 nights at this fabulous hotel and I can honestly say I have never stayed at a hotel with better service. It is a training hotel for the hospitality industry and each year there is a new intake of about 48 students from all parts of Myanmar. The attention to detail is unsurpassed in each of the six stilted huts which feature local crafts and fabric with a lot of teak wood. Breakfast was served each morning overlooking the reed banks floating in the lake. Stunning views in all directions. There is a very special shrine room featuring a fabulous shrine copied from a temple nearby. My favourite feature of the hotel is the Burmese cats. The hotel has taken on a project to reintroduce the Burmese cats to Myanmar. The breed had all but died out. Guests are allowed to spend time with these precious animals getting a cuddle. We were fortunate to attend a cooking course at the hotel with the head chef. What an amazing experience that was, not cheap but worth every cent. Perhaps my only negative at this magical place was the passing boat noise which is probably to be expected if you stay on a lake and that is the only form of transport available. I would strongly recommend a few nights stay at this very unique hotel. I can't finish this review without mentioning some of the very special staff members who made our stay even more enjoyable, thanks Pann Myet, Nay Zaw, Chaw Su and Thun and so many others. Stayed December 2016, traveled with family"Nimmu House: "summer 2016"
Nimmu house was the perfect place to acclimatise. We spent the first 48 hours of being in Ladakh here. The apricot & apple orchards created the perfect ambience to completely unwind. The food & service was outstanding. The tents were perfect for a family of 4, comfortable and spacious. A must stay!!!Rice & Zen Boutique Resort: "Perfect Romantic Getaway"
"We stayed at Sea Dance for 5 nights in a Pool Villa room that was at the front of the property, overlooking the beach. We stayed April - May 2017 as part of our honeymoon vacation. We had a fabulous time at the resort and would highly recommend it. Pros - The resort was very quiet and private, and even with other guests and families, was very quiet. The staff was very personable, friendly, and helpful. They made every effort to make our stay the best. The rooms were very nice, with a large room area, large bathroom and shower, plenty of hot water and refreshing air conditioning. The property is very cute, with each room set up as its own 'cabana' and spread out nicely around the property. It had a very nice beach & relaxing feel, without being to themed. We ate at the restuarant multiple times and tried numerous items that were all delicious - especially the Thai food options.! They provided a happy hour daily, and had live music several times during our stay, which was entertaining without being too loud. While the location was slightly off of the main road (it is down a small side street), we were able to catch local shared taxis (red trucks) to get to other beaches with no problem. There is a 7-11 at the intersection of the main road and side street to Sea Dance for anything you might need to pick up. We also got a massage at the onsite spa our last day, which was wonderful. We didnt know that was available until we arrived. Cons - We found the beach to be a bit more rocky than we expected. Luckily we brought a pair of aqua socks/water shoes and that helped us to still be able to enjoy the beach. It is a good beach for snorkeling or kayaking, but not or swimming. This was fine for us, as other beaches were close by for a day visit, and we were still able to enjoy being by the water. Overall, we highly recommend this hotel and would stay here again in the future. We had a wonderful relaxing vacation and can't thank the staff at Sea Dance enough!"tugu bali: "High quality hotel with strong historical identity"
"We enjoyed very much Tugu Hotel for the beginning of our honeymoon with my wife, through a three nights stay. The particularity of Tugu Hotel is that it is also a kind of museum with valuable and well designed pieces of furniture, decorations and paintings. Rooms are like small houses with an internal private courtyard and a swimming pool. The garden is also well designed with nice statues coming from ages. The staff is nice: everyone in the hotel knew our names since the beginning for instance. "
