Rahai’i Pangun: "Fantastic four days up the river in Tanjung Puting"
"What else can I say that others haven't already said? WOW Borneo does an amazing job making sure your visit to Tanjung Puting will be one of your most memorable experiences ever. From the amazing, spacious Klotok boat, to the tasty and abundant food, to the little things like passing out a cool wash cloth when you return from shore, these guys are really and truly committed to their work. One really nice example: at the start of the trip we changed our plans to spend more nights on the boat rather than stay for a night at Rimba Lodge. Our friends at WOW handled the change gracefully and promptly wired back the funds I had pre-paid for the hotel. My only wish, and it's small, was to get more local historical and cultural insight (in English) from our guide, Pretty - who to be fair is relatively new on the job. Despite this I always knew our needs would be foreseen and met, and I know my companions came away from our rainforest encounter with a profound send of new awareness and inspiration."Glenburn Tea Estate: "Fabulous place"
"There’s only one downside - a very rough road to get to it. However, it’s only the final 30 minutes of the trip and trust me, it’s worth it! Large, clean and very comfortable bedrooms, amazing views of the hills of Darjeeling, the tea estates and the snow-capped Himalayas, quality breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner and, in between relaxing, some great things to do. A walk down to the river or up to a viewpoint led to cold towels and drinks, followed by amazing picnics. There are cars to take you everywhere if you don’t want to walk. Highlight for us was spending time with the lovely Nimila, a local guide, who was knowledgeable, happy to talk about her life and the local community, and great company as well. Highly recommended."David’s Kitchen: "Amazing Food and Wine"
"Superb experience. Beautiful, calm space in which to dine. A graceful, accommodating staff, and a tremendous kitchen. My wife's printed name and mine greeted us when we reached the table. Nice touch. The menu is traditional French/Continental, exceedingly well-done. Highlights on the food side were the pumpkin veloute, the fois gras, the grilled duck breast, . We ordered one set menu (4 courses) and three a la carte courses; the waiter immediately offered to divide the extra soup course into two servings, which was thoughtful and kind, as was the rest of the very attentive service. The waiters and sommelier spoke excellent English, by the way. David, the owner, stopped by our table several times, and we had a lengthy conversation about wine, a passion for both of us. In general, ordering fine wine in Thailand is an expensive nuisance, because of the 400% import tax. As a rule, we don't, because you end up paying $50 dollars for mouthwash. However, the refined food at David's Kitchen cries out for good wine, and to make that possible, David keeps his wine prices LOW. I was delighted to find a bottle of St. Cosme's 2016 Cotes du Rhone for roughly the same price I've paid for it in US restaurants. Remarkable that it was both available at David's Kitchen and fairly priced. In summation, this is an exceptionally fine restaurant, one of a kind here in Chiang Mai, and if you are looking for a special place for a special meal, I recommend it most highly."Cuca: "Delicious and delightful tapa rastaurant"
An excellent garden restaurant with great service personnel. A great place to explore flavours and share with friends and family.Cuca: "Is worth the drive…excellent Tapas"
"The food and cocktails are excellent ! Totally worth the drive. First we start with the cocktail. They are tasty and pretty to the eyes. The tapas are creative and tasty. We love the Bravas, Black squid ""risotto"". Black squid ""risotto"" is made of finely cut squid instead of rice. It is yummy and it gives a different texture as compared to normal risotto. Bravas - Tempeh with sundried tomato gives a nice taste to the usually blend tempeh. Their garden setting is nice and should the weather permit, it will be nice to dine there. Good service as well !"Rachamankha: "Absolute delight"
"Unfortunately, memory fails of the date of our visit, which was prior to said date, but not of the enchantment of the hotel which persists. After the taxi ride from the airport through the streets of Chang Mai, we were swept into a land of storybook imagination. The creation of an atmosphere of Asian quiet elegance settled softly around us. My fondest memory, and one I would fervently like to repeat, is having a massage on the open air second floor of the pool pavilion. A gentle breeze kissed the curtains and birds sang while I floated away to another dimension. The restaurant is very good, allowing one to remain within the dream. "Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "An amazing cultural experience"
"I had the most amazing time. The Blue Mansion is a magnificent relic that has been beautifully restored. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in history and culture. The staff were super friendly and the tour guide provided so much information. The people who bought the Mansion and saved it from being torn down should be congratulated. Stayed January 2017, traveled solo"Inle Princess Resort: "WOW, WOW, WOW – just awesome"
"This place is the best!! I read some of the negative reviews and after staying at this property, I can only assume that the people were on drugs who did not like the place. This beautiful property sits waterfront on the lake. When you boat arrives, they turn off the engine and paddle in so the guests are not disturbed by engine noise. Our room was massive! All wood and just beautiful beyond belief. Same with the bathroom - massive. The big treat was the outdoor shower, we both loved it. No television in the room which is great. Perfect bed and netting around the bed. Dining room was just great with great food. The service was off the chart great - from check in, bar, dining room and even the friendly gardeners. I had a massage which was also just great. Our tour guide picked us up each day in the boat and off we went to see the sites. I regretted not having an extra day just to hang by the pool or sit on my deck, something you might want to think about because it is so peaceful. PROS: Massive room Great air conditioning Great Service Great food - especially breakfast Good drinks Great views of the lake - quiet Great bedding with turn down service They spray for mosquitos like crazy CONS: None I would highly recommend this place. If you are looking for a hot, jumping disco club disco place, this is not for you. If you want to relax and see the sights, this is it!!!"Reverie Siam: "Stunning hotel"
"This is a fantastic hotel, located on the outskirts of the samll town of Pai, in northern thailand. I stayed here with my girlfriend in June 2015 and the place far exceeded both of expectations. The desgin of the resort is fantastic, the french colonial theame is very well done and the rooms are perfect. The resort is quite and peaceful, a perfect place to unwind and relax. The restuarant offers a tappas style menu, which for us was actually a nice change from the more traditional thai dishes on offer elsewhere, although there are plenty of options in town if you wish to stick to thai. The chefs boards in particular were very good as a lunch/snack in the afternoon. (...) Overall though this hotel really is a gem, every aspect of it works wel togther and staff work hard to make your stay perfect, it is fantastic value for money, and although more than many other options in the area, it is well worth it."Tugu Lombok: "Amazing"
I don't usually take the time to write reviews, but this place was so impressive that I felt I should. The hospitality here was better than any other 5* hotel I have visited. The people are friendly in a really genuine way, and the hotel just has a charm about it that is incomparable to anywhere else I have stayed. It's not something that can be bought, it just has a story to tell and it's authentic and you kind of feel like you are part of the story of the place while you are there. The hotel arranged a scooter for us and when we got a flat tyre they sent someone to pick up the bike and someone else to make sure we were ok and then a driver to take us where we wanted to go free of charge.. an impressive rescue mission! In comparison to gilli, it was just above and beyond miles better. Quieter, cleaner, nicer and so relaxing. It's not right for party goers, but for a place to unwind and relax.. it was perfect. I would love to go back one day.. can't recommend it enough. Thank you Tugu team for taking such good care of us!!
