Sukoon Houseboat: "Watch the world float by"
We stayed at Sukoon for one night based on the recommendation of our host at the Cottage, Nigeen and can't thank him enough for making the arrangement for our stay at Sukoon. The hospitality is great, right from the time they pick you from the shore of Dal lake in their own boat. The houseboat is fabulous with great wooden furniture along with all modern comforts.the staff was very helpful and courteous The food was delicious , especially the Tea (kahwa) and coconut dessert with chocolate sauce . The upper deck was the perfect place to spend our mornings and evenings and the lower decks was the best place sit and shop and also eat the pakodas and tea from the nearby floating shop. The rooms were comfortable and finely built and well maintained.Sunrise and sunsets were beautiful. While leaving white threads were tied to our wrists for our safe journey. We were really touched by this gesture. We will defiantly come back and stay for a longer time.Muang La Lodge: "Un havre de calme et de luxe discret"
We stayed two days in early January this unique property by its environment and the quality of its welcome. The garden is just beautiful and the services of a very high level, especially in an isolated place where the local staff has been well trained by the management team. We, like all the guests, welcome it and was accompanied during our stay by Mathilde and Raphael who were able to make us forget the bad passing time during our stay. The cuisine is exquisite and refined, prepared by chefs from the village and presented and served like a high-end restaurant, relaxation facilities (pool, sauna, hot baths, sitting area or library) are well landscaped and maintained. Finally the rooms are nicely decorated and comfortable. I have only praise for this establishment which suffers no fault, except maybe to be on the other side of the world. Do not miss in any case this place if you go north Laos.Nimmu House: "The perfect place"
We chose to end in Nimmu House a rather full program of trekking and touring in Ladakh. We couldn't be happier with this choice. Our heads full of memories to process, we were given space, the beautiful apple and apricots orchards, the relaxing terrasse, our own luxury tent, and time, no rush for anything, to digest all we had done so far and also the idea that we would have to leave soon. The old house is beautiful. It is being restored with great attention and respect for locale traditions. The staff is very kind and extremely helpfull and the food is fresh and delicious! The perfect place ...Mume: "Modern contemporary cuisine in Taipei"
Helmed by chefs whom trained at the world renowned Noma, comes a modern contemporary restaurant with Taiwanese elements. Ingredients are mostly locally sourced I believe. The sensibilities are quite close to the Nordic style of cuisine, which is subtle in flavour albeit quite well balanced.Maison Polanka: "Beautiful property with the best staff"
"My boyfriend and I had an amazing stay here during our trip to Siem Reap! Everything surpassed our expectations. When we arrived, we were greeted at the airport by Francis and a car that drove us straight to the hotel to make sure it was a seamless trip. The purple room was perfect for us - very spacious with high ceilings. Francis, Cathy, and the entire staff at Maison Polanka ensured every detail of our stay was perfect - from packing us breakfast for when we left early to watch the sunrise, to giving us recommendations on where to eat in town and which other temples to visit. They patiently answered all our questions and made us feel completely at home. The grounds of Maison Polanka was like its own world, a quiet haven away from the hustle and bustle of downtown while located just 5min away. Another outstanding feature of the hotel was the kitchen - we loved all our meals there and the dishes were our favorite by far in Siem Reap. We ate basically all our meals and loved everything we had, especially the local Khmer fried rice and beef lok lak. It was so convenient to be able to come home after a long day touring the temples to enjoy a delicious meal in the outdoors dining area, prepared meticulously by such a great chef. We'll definitely be staying here again on our future visits - we can't wait to come back!"Bassac Mekong Delta Cruises by Secret Retreats: "Wonderful trip"
We had a fantastic overnight cruise on Bassac 3 with the friendly and informative Annie as our guide. The food was delicious and the trip to the local village, where some of Annie’s relatives live, was a genuine glimpse of life on the Mekong Delta. The boat trip the following day to the floating market was just as enjoyable and eating freshly chopped fruit on one of the boats was a highlight.Cuisine Wat Damnak: "Excellent service"
"After eating out all week at $10 for two joints along the Taphul Road we decided to splash out on our last night and booked a table at this restaurant. They specialise in tasting menus and offer 6 courses for $31 pp and 5 courses for $27. Wines start at $22 and rise to $100. Two different tasting menus are on offer each night so we opted for one of each so we could taste each others food. The service is immaculate and each course is described in detail before its presented. The portions are not huge but that is to be expected with a tasting menu such as this. The location is not walkable from the town centre so a tut tut is required but it is only $2 each way. As I said its an expensive place by Cambodian standards and not a restaurant you would come to on a daily basis, but its great for a treat. the service is fantastic, the food is out of this world and the premises are awesome.I recommend a visit here at least once , but do book a table as they get full very quickly."Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "Blissful stay"
"This is a straight five star stay with lovely accommodation in scattered lodges around the grounds, bird watching and treks available, and a wonderful veranda to sit and look at the Himalayas (if they are clear of mist....) We had mosquito nets (not actually needed) over our beds and hot water bottles can be requested! The food and hospitality are excellent. The staff are permanently on their toes. We loved our little lodge so much we could have just sat in there all day listening to and watching the birds. A local lady came and did a Reiki massage in the room. Bliss Stayed April 2017, traveled with friends"The Island Lodge: "Delightful Oasis"
"We stayed just one night at the end of a Mekong Delta tour. Michel organised our pick up, which was a lovely trip in a long boat. We were greeted warmly on arrival and that feeling continued on during our stay. Staff were very friendly, polite and engaging. The rooms were lovely and well appointed, although a small fridge would have been a welcome addition. The food was good, a nice combination of French and Vietnamese and breakfast was delicious. Fresh bread/pastries and fruit and as much of whatever else as we wanted. We went for a walk into the village and got lost on the way back. The locals were very helpful with directions and eventually we called the lodge and they came and fetched us, we were only 300m away!!"Cuisine Wat Damnak: "Wonderful 1st meal in SR"
Loved every course! Even though I'm not an adventurous eater, I was starting to feel full by the 3rd course cos I ate everything. The wait staff were attentive and prompt but not intrusive. After dessert, the chef brought a fruit plate personally and explained each fruit which was very nice.
