Le Sanak tend à être une propriété sans plastique, utilise uniquement des bouteilles en verre, fournit à chaque hôte un sac éco pour utiliser durant leur séjour, et sensibilise son équipe à comment réduire, réutiliser et recycler quand c’est possible. Il emploie du staff local, ainsi que des produits locaux. Au-delà du développement de la formation, il fournit du matériel à l’école locale et couvre les frais de scolarité de 5 enfants par an. De plus, le Sanak est un membre de « Pack for a Purpose », une organisation qui encourage les voyageurs à réduire leurs bagages de quelques kilos pour apporter du matériel pour les écoles voisines ou les cliniques dans le besoin.
